Cecilia Tong is a strategic business partner in setting business directions and goals, a leader that ensures business supports are relevant and effective in delivering business goals, and maximizing returns to all stakeholders. She has developed such capabilities through her experience in holding corporate roles for more than 20 years, including senior financial positions and directorship in public listed companies, strategic management services, US MNCs and Big 4 CPA firms, in both Singapore and Hong Kong.
Cecilia previously held the role of Group CFO of a company listed on the Catalist Board of SGX as well as the Group CFO and a member of the board of directors of a Mainboard-listed Group on SGX. She oversaw the Groups’ financial affairs and corporate functions, including Finance, Risk management, Treasury, Legal, IT, HR, Corporate Secretarial and statutory compliance. She was also involved in numerous M&A deals, subsidiary spin-off through IPO, fund raising through equity right issues, strategic partnership and other financial instruments. In order to better support the business needs and growth, she constantly drove changes and enhancements to the finance and corporate functions.
Cecilia was a Senior Strategist of an investment company, involved in a group-wide re-structuring and corporatization exercise. She also held the position of Controller of a subsidiary of a US Fortune 200 company, responsible for business supports in Finance, Administration, HR and Warehouse management, Financial Reporting & Budgeting.
In the earlier years of her career, Cecilia worked in the Big 4 CPA firms as an auditor and gained her auditing experience in various industries, such as Banking, Manufacturing, Education, Construction, Import and Export Trade, Hotel and other services in Singapore, Hong Kong and China.
Cecilia holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree from Monash University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Deakin University. She is a fellow member of CPA Australia.
