Simon Tam is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified Management Accountant based in Singapore. He is a senior Finance and Strategic Business Partner with over 30 years of work experience in Manufacturing, FMCG and Oil & Gas industries. He has worked in Canada, Jamaica, Hong Kong, China, Singapore and in regional roles covering the Eastern Hemisphere.
Simon Tam has led large regional finance and shared services teams in Greater China, working as an influential and effective business partner with other functional heads at the business leadership level. His experience in BP’s Global Internal Audit adopting a risk-based approach is a valuable asset in the area of corporate governance. Building on a solid finance background and excellent business acumen, he started to focus on developing and executing business transformation strategy for the BP/Castrol Lubricants business in the Eastern Hemisphere over a decade ago, with projects covering New Market Entry, Country Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions, Divestments and Business Negotiations. He was also the Regional Ethics & Compliance Leader for BP.
Simon graduated from York University in Canada and is a member of Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario. He is one of the founders of E4E (Executives for the Extraordinary, Education for Everyone), which is a group of corporate executives that has sponsored 16 school improvement projects in developing communities in Asia since 2003.
